I went to school with Dr Brinks youngest son, Geoffrey Brink. I will never forgot being about 14 years old and sitting in Life Orientation class watching Geoffrey standing on a chair explaining to our teacher that he did not believe in the HIV virus and that he would have sex without a condom no problem. At the time I found it hilarious and had no inkling about what he was going on about except that I knew my dad had the same views. So I cheered him on. Later on in life I met an ex-girlfriend of his, who used to work in the labs running HIV tests on blood samples , her experiences in that lab with her superiors were shocking to say the least, but she had luckily found Dr Brink who had helped her make sense of what she was encountering and she eventually left that job and her career behind. I never met Dr Brink myself but his work makes me feel proudly South African. It so awesome to see an article like this showcasing his work, his work deserves all the praise it gets.

Hi Mia

He is not a Dr but an Adv but he sure did enough study on this subject to deserve that title a few times over. I have never heard of him until recently but it's understandable because I was very young when all this played off.

I'm glad we can advertise his work. What he has done is amazing!

We would have been lost in the woods with our current movement without his work.
